Traditional Boca Grande Pass Tarpon

Traditional Boca Grande Pass Tarpon

Boca Grande is known worldwide as the Tarpon Fishing Capital of the World, and for good reason. Hooking a Silver King in Boca Grande Pass is a rite of passage—and traditional pass fishing is the method that built this place’s reputation.

These trips use classic Boca Grande techniques with live bait, fishing the powerful tides that funnel through the pass. It’s one of the most consistent ways for both first-time and experienced anglers to connect with a tarpon.

Tarpon fishing here is entirely tide-driven. Morning trips are typically scheduled around sunrise, while evening trips are planned around sunset. Late-afternoon trips often coincide with strong new and full moon tides, locally known as Hill Tides.

Trip lengths and departure times may vary daily based on tide conditions.
